Here’s one of the best new songs that we’ve heard in a while; a sparsely laid-back jam that has emotion for days.
British artist Sampha’s latest offering is a beautifully stripped-back piano ballad where he sings, “No one knows me like the piano in my Mother’s home.”
With a silky-smooth R&B voice, minimal beats, and layered harmonies, it’s nostalgic enough to give you goosebumps.
Sampha has fast been building a name for himself after featuring on SBTRKT’s jam ‘Temporary View’ in 2014. Since then, he’s collaborated with Drake and Solange, and has worked on a range of projects as a producer, writer, and vocalist.
We’re digging the honest simplicity of this track, and can’t wait to hear what Sampha does next.
