Apirana & Colman On Tour
Parachute Music is pleased to be bringing Steve Apirana and Paul Colman to a town near you.
The trans-Tasman duo will play 10 North Island dates this August, weaving their iconic songs from Whangarei to Wellington.
Steve Apirana’s pedigree reaches back into the seventies, having played support for such luminaries as Black Sabbath, Split Ends, and Dragon as a member of Butler and The Velvettes. Whether wielding his trademark Stratocaster or a battered acoustic guitar, Steve’s rootsy performances capture audiences in a way that very few can; rich with charm, honesty, self-depreciating humour.
With decades of music behind him, and his 2011 album ‘This Wretched Man’ re-affirming his place as one of this country’s most authentic songwriters, Steve Apirana is a true national treasure.
A Grammy nominated singer/songwriter and a world-class entertainer, Paul Colman has played many roles in his musical life. As founder of the Paul Colman Trio, Colman won worldwide fans with his penchant for catchy Christian pop. In 2005, Colman answered the call of his fellow countrymen the Newsboys, stepping in to fulfill guitar duties for the Grammy Award-winning outfit. Leaving the band in 2009, Colman reunited briefly with the Paul Colman Trio and continues to perform solo across the globe.
Joining Steve and Paul on tour is Talia Caradus, a member of Parachute Music’s inaugural artist development programme. Each night will also feature a brief update on all things Parachute Music.
