Parachute Band formed in 1996 as the in-house worship band for the annual Parachute Festival, leading the Mainstage crowd into the presence of God with locally written worship music. As the demand for these songs grew, opportunities opened up for the band way beyond the realm of Festival.

Seven albums later, with nearly a decade of touring under their belt, the mantle was passed to a new generation. Keeping the same mission, the new line-up is touring the world leading people in passionate and energetic worship. Signed to Integrity Music, the band has worldwide distribution and releases worship songs written by New Zealanders, to the world.

The ‘nxt gen’ Parachute Band has released two albums to date – ROADMAPS AND REVELATIONS and TECNICOLOR, and has a third due out mid-late 2010. With a rockier sound of punchy guitar-lines, pop synths and soaring melodies, the bands ministry is growing at a rapid rate. Comfortable in large stadiums or the local church, the band spends up to seven month a year touring internationally, ministering to thousands along the way.

Committed to the scripture Hebrews 13:15, “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” The Parachute Band ‘nxt gen’ is five guys on a mission to bring relevant, fresh and real worship to their generation.
