It’s that crucial time of year again… we are now busily confirming international headliners for next year’s festival. And while we’re working like mad on the Parachute 2011 line up, we’d really like to hear your suggestions. Is there anyone in particular that you’d like to see on the Parachute 2011 Mainstage? Let us know your dream act on the official Parachute Music page on Facebook, and we’ll do our best to look into them.

And if you know of any up-and-coming local artists who could sparkle on a Festival stage (or if you just so happen to be one) then take note: Artist Applications for bands wanting to perform at Parachute 2011 close on May 28. We’ve already received a bunch of applications, and would love to get many more by the deadline. Download the official form right here, get writing, and don’t miss out by being late.

Welcome

Our 20th birthday Festival has now finished, thousands of campers have gone home, and the Mystery Creek site is in pack-down mode!

Parachute 2010 was quite the adventure. It was great to have so many of you back with us, creating more sunshiney (and then drenched out) memories at Parachute 2010! – highlights include:

The 90s Party in the Palladium, with hundreds of punters dancing along to their favourite beats of yesterday, and watching the Parachute Mad Men move it.

Parachute’s Got Talent winner Caleb Cross (10 years old) performing live on the Mainstage. That boy could sing!

Parachute-goers embracing the heavy rains on Sunday, and still packing out the muddy Mainstage that night to worship under the stars with Parachute Band, Leeland and Hillsong United. Epic.

Falling Up’s last ever set – magical.

Switchfoot (need we say more?)

Those dance crews on the Massive stage… wow.

Rapture Ruckus’ Friday night performance – it was massive, with pyros and drum-offs… and NZ will miss them when they head to the U.S. in March.

The Birthday Celebrations on Saturday night – featuring a 90s rip-off band with members of Parachute Band, DZIAH 2.0, Kingston, All Left Out and more…

Brooke Fraser’s guest emcee spot on the Mainstage on Sunday night. A lovely surprise!

White Elephant punters dancing along to Kingston, and then the White Elephant Super Band.

Make sure you check out our Parachute 2010 Photo Gallery, to capture more of the fun and mayhem over the weekend.
