Hot on the heels of performing two highly acclaimed sets at Coachella, The XX have released a 21-minute short film.
Directed by Tayo Rapoport and Josh Renaut, the film covers the week long ‘Night + Day’ event that the band recently put on in Brixton (the area where they all grew up).
‘Night + Day’ was a residency held at the Brixton Academy (and a range of other venues) in March, which saw The XX performing over seven days with a variety of guests including Florence & The Machine, Sampha, Kelela, Robyn, Cat Power and Francis And The Lights.
During the week, they also partnered with seven local charities to give back to the local community. On ya, guys.
The film is a nice look at their motivation for investing back into Brixton, and shows them connecting with their friends and fans in a new way.
