Folk songstress Nadia Reid has just released a brand new song, and announced the details of her upcoming second album.
The Port Chalmers native announced last week that her second album will be titled ‘Preservation’, and released on March 3.
Reid explained to The Wireless that she hasn’t succumbed to the common problem of second-album-jitters, saying, “I write music totally for myself and I think if you start thinking too much about how it might be received, that kind of thing, it can be a bit of a downward slope.”
Her first track off the album, ‘The Arrow & The Aim’ is a slow-burning electric guitar anthem, with some tasty Americana references.
The ode to heartbreak features beautifully plaintive lyrics that include, “Remember the heart, the one that beats beneath you. You were the one that brought me closer to heaven.” Definitely worth a listen.
Reid has also announced that she’ll be touring through Europe in February; playing shows in the UK, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Switzerland. She’s promising to announce New Zealand and Australian dates very soon.
