Auckland rapper Mzwètwo has just dropped a fire music video for his track ‘Young Stunna’.
First of all, this has got to be one of the most confident songs to come from a Kiwi. He oozes attitude in this one, giving himself mad props for his unique style and swag. And it’s a pretty contagious vibe.
Directed by Shae Sterling (with Mzwètwo as Creative Director) the video features roaring fire, good fashion, a solid street gang and strong lightning bolt iconography. It’s nice to see NZ labels Stolen Girlfriends and Zambesi repped in the clip too.
UK blog The 405 premiered the video, saying the song has a “spacious, semi-gothic beat, simple-but-highly memorable chorus, sing-along bridge and snappy rap verses. At crux, it’s an exercise in Post-Yeezus rap dressed in denim’n’leather hard rock aesthetics.”
