The first two acts have been announced for next year’s Laneway Festival, and they’re sure to pull in the punters.
Everybody’s favourite ruffian Mac DeMarco is confirmed, along with LA based singer and rapper Anderson .Paak.
Canadian musician Mac DeMarco shot to critical acclaim after releasing his first album back in 2012. Since then, he’s released two more, and won fans over around the world with his offbeat sense of humour and unique brand of guitar-driven ‘slacker rock’.
Anderson .Paak is making waves as Dr Dre’s new prodigy. After appearing on Dre’s 2015 album ‘Compton’, .Paak then signed to the music mogul’s Aftermath record label. To date, .Paak has released two albums, and his latest (titled ‘Malibu’) fuses together wide ranging influences from funk to disco, making for an original hip hop sound.
