Auckland’s favourite boy band Leisure have dropped a new song, and it’s a cruisy shoutout to all the lonely hearts out there.
‘Alone Together’ is a song about hanging with someone when you’re both feeling disconnected, and features the band’s trademark breathy vocals layered up in lush stacks. It has a perfectly laid back chorus, and they’ve even managed to fit in a saxophone solo near the end.
The groove is slick, and it has that dreamy tropical holiday vibe that we’ve come to expect from Leisure.
‘Alone Together’ is the first song the five-piece have released all year, and they’ve also teased another tune called ‘Falling’ which will hopefully come out soon.
Leisure also remixed Danish artist M.I.L.K.’s track ‘U and Me’ recently, giving the song a super relaxed and funk-driven 70’s party vibe. Listen to that tasty little number here.
The video for 'Alone Together' shows the band at one of their writing retreats in Karekare, which leads us to believe that the title of their song is a tip of the hat to Crowded House's seminal album 'Together Alone', also recorded in Karekare.
