Kane Strang: ‘Two Hearts And No Brain’

Dunedin songwriter Kane Strang has just released his sophomore album, ‘Two Hearts And No Brain’ and it’s been making major international waves.

Rough Trade’s website featured it as their Album Of The Week, saying, “With a penchant for melodic earworms to rival those of the world's best pop songwriters, the New Zealand artist's glittering hooks twist and turn in perfect synch with meticulous band arrangements.”

It’s also been shared on Vulture Magazine, Stereogum, DIY Magazine, and BBC6’s radio show.

Strang has teamed up to release the album with U.S. label Dead Oceans, who also represent indie icons Mitski and Tallest Man On Earth.

‘Two Hearts And No Brain’ has Stang’s trademark 90s grunge sound, with hilarious and confessional lyrics. Co-produced by Steven Marr (Doprah), it has a slightly slicker sound than his earlier work. And his melodies dancing over those electric guitar licks are skill king.
