Kacy Hill: ‘Hard To Love’

After signing to Kanye West’s GOOD record label in 2014, Kacy Hill has finally released her debut album ‘Like A Woman’.

To promote the album she’s dropped a giant pop single ‘Hard To Love’, which shows off her solid songwriting chops and killer pipes.

‘Hard To Love’ was produced by Stuart Price (The Killers, Madonna) and Oscar Sikow (Marlene, Giorgio Moroder); and it sounds like a Scandinavian version of Sia, with a few Haim melodies thrown in for good measure.

Hill is originally from Phoenix, and worked as West’s backup dancer on his 2013-14 Yeezus Tour. West saw one of her independently released music videos on the tour (this one), and signed her on the spot.

The appeal of ‘Hard To Love’ lies in it’s timeless melody, which sounds like it was written on the guitar while still managing to fit effortlessly over it’s electro-pop production.
