How many bands can two men be in? Prolific music makers Dan Gibson and Simon Oscroft have combined forces, after each songwriting and producing for a wide range of different projects.
Somehow (in between performing in Streets of Laredo, reuniting Kingston, and producing music for The Aces), Gibson has found the time to team up with Oscroft (from Midnight Youth and MOTHXR fame) to create a brand new entity called Frills.
Both Gibson and Oscroft are Kiwi expats living in New York, and they’ve obviously bonded over a mutual love of classic pop music and slick production.
Their debut track ‘My Love’ is filled to the brim with bouncing melodic hooks and guitar-driven production that’s reminiscent of Bleachers, FUN and Gorillaz.
If they keep pumping out tunes at this rate, these two are going to be pretty much unstoppable.
