Francis and the Lights: ‘Just For Us’

Everybody’s favourite dancer Francis Starlite released a surprise album over the summer, called ‘Just For Us’, and it’s a gem.

The 10-track release opens with a piano ballad called ‘Morning’, brimming with a freshly minted hope and Francis’ trademark heartfelt vocals singing, “It’s okay, they’re only feelings”.

With songs that ebb and flow between dance floors and private conversations, the album goes on to remind you why Francis and the Lights is such a captivating project; when you listen to these songs, you feel like you’re listening to an old friend.

The album’s title track features Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, and it’s a self-empowerment jam with 80s synths, a driving beat and the friendly reminder to stop worrying when it feels like everyone’s watching you.

All in all, it’s just the pep talk we needed. We love you, Francis.
