Iconic 80s music juggernauts Cyndi Lauper and Blondie are teaming up to play two arena shows in New Zealand this April; at Auckland’s Vector Arena and Christchurch’s Horncastle Arena.
Tickets went on sale this morning, and they’re expected to sell out fast.
Cyndi Lauper’s never visited our fair country, and we’re pretty excited to hear the ‘Time After Time’ hit-makin’ superstar. Blondie’s last Vector gig seven years ago saw them in fine form, with sassy frontwoman Debbie Harry still belting out classics like ‘Call Me’ and ‘Heart of Glass’.
Lauper recently told press, "Blondie were the true trailblazers of the New York City new wave and punk scenes. As a young artist, they had such a big impact on me. I just thought that Debbie was so cool. She is still a hero of mine. We are going to have a blast.”
See if you can still get tickets here for Christchurch, and here for Auckland. And have a listen to the greatness that is ‘Call Me’, right here:
