Between the Notes

It’s being talked about more and more, but muso’s are some of the most at-risk people for depression and anxiety. Working long hours, dealing with career ups and downs, and the constant pressure to make ends meet seems to be leaving many creatives burnt out.

In July, The NZ Music Foundation conducted a ‘New Zealand Music Community Wellbeing Survey’ and interviewed a wide range of local musicians to delve into the pressures and realities that they’re facing.

While the results from this survey are still being sorted (we’ll keep you posted), here’s a great interview with Olly Alexander from Years and Years, explaining his own mental health struggles within the British music industry.
