The finalists for the 50th Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards were announced last night, including the frontrunners for the newly-renamed Best Worship album. Creative community Edge Kingsland is in the running for their multimedia effort Seven Days, which sees artists from the church like Dave Baxter, Lydia Cole and Fraser and Naomi Browne (Paper Cranes) chipping in with their interpretations of the seven days of creation. Check out the project at www.lettherebelight.co.nz.
Life Worship also has a nod for their latest, 'Through the Fire', an album that tells a stunning story of faithfulness through a gruelling chapter in the band's life. Check out the stories behind the songs here.
The third finalists are raucous punk-worship outfit We, The Revival. A rolling team including members of Jury and the Saints, HalfNoise and Mumsdollar, We, the Revival's self-titled debuted is brimming with the kind of energy and passion that redefines the parameters of church music.
