Annabel Alpers, a synth-pop musician originally hailing from Wellington, made quite a splash with her Bachelorette project in the mid 2000’s.
Her retro sci-fi visuals, electronic beats and captivating vocals led to her opening for Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, The Magnetic Fields, and Animal Collective. She recorded four albums under the Bachelorette name, and was signed to US label Drag City.
Alpers has spent the past four years living in Baltimore, and is now gearing up to record a new musical project with her band Particle Tracks.
She is currently raising funds for the project over on Kickstarter, so that she can buy some recording equipment to make it all happen. Check out the campaign here.
