Arcade Fire are back, and they’ve announced the release of their upcoming album with a brand new single called ‘Everything Now’.
It’s a big tune, which the band co-produced with Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, and it definitely draws on ABBA in a big way. It has a strong disco vibe, and they’ve somehow even managed to make a pan flute solo sound convincing in it.
‘Everything Now’ dissects consumerism, and calls out the people pretending they’ve got it all together. It’s nice to hear Arcade Fire back with those trademark cutting lyrics.
The single has been released with a post-apocalyptic looking video, showing the six-piece performing in an endless desert next to some kind of deserted space station. It’s the first track off their upcoming album (also called ‘Everything Now’), which will be released on July 28.
