The Naked And Famous’ frontwoman Alisa Xayalith recently teamed up with Fender to deliver an acoustic performance of the band’s song ‘Last Forever’.
Sitting in a home studio playing acoustic guitar, Xayalith belted out a stripped-back version of the song, showcasing her effortless pipes and the emotion behind the usually synth-laden song.
The original, off the band’s last album ‘Simple Forms’ is a bombastic breakup track that merged processed guitars with electronic drum samples and layered vocals. It’s great to hear ‘Last Forever’ in a way that cuts straight to the emotion.
Xayalith explained in a follow-up video that she usually starts writing her songs on acoustic guitar, saying, “It’s a form of therapy, it’s a form of creative catharsis, of creating something out of nothing.”
